School Visit to Angell Town Primary |
||
|
Brixton North Safer Neighbourhoods Team visited Angell Town Primary School.
Today our local officers visited the school to deliver an important safety talk to the children aged 4-11. They spoke about staying safe, making good choices and how officers are here to help.
The children also had a chance to see and learn about some of the equipment officers use in their daily work. A police car was driven into the playground so the kids can see what the inside looks like and all the different functions they include.
A police dog called PD (Police Dog) Bonnie, who is an explosive search dog, and her handler also were present. The children had a chance to learn about how valuable police dogs are to searching for different items and assisting with the apprehension of suspects. As well as enjoy some cuddles with PD Bonnie!
Experiences like this help build trust, understanding, and positive relationships for the future between young people and the team who work really hard to keep their community safe.
